Coping with pressure
It’s hard for any of us to resist too much pressure. But there’ s one reassuring fact: we’re all capable of resisting pressure. It’s all a question of strength training. Every situation leads to progress in strength and resistance. Every situation allows us to develop.
More and more people, and more and more young people, are looking for meaning in their lives, and thirsting to become “known”. The reality that accompanies it is less attractive, but facing up to it is the best way to achieve it. When you’re a pillar, you’re cut more carefully than the others, so that you’re strong and resistant enough to support all the rocks needed to build the temple. Every stone is useful, but if the pillars aren’t more carefully cared for and trimmed, they can’t withstand the greater pressure that weighs on them, jeopardizing the whole structure, which is then in danger of collapsing.
If you want to be a pillar you have to prepare yourself for this and develop certain essential things:
- The more influential you become, the greater the pressure.
- The more you want to develop, the heavier the burden will become.
- The bigger the structure you want, the more you need others.
Becoming a pillar means learning to resist pressure, developing yourself further to increase your ability to support and guide others , and learning to surround yourself with the right people.
