A few weeks ago, we were talking with my wife and in my anger I said to her, “In this house everyone has their own suitcase and tries to take up all the space without bothering to bare the others.” Oops, that’s out! It’s one of those moments when your thoughts get carried away and you say certain things too quickly, things that may be true at the time but are by no means a general rule. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It did, however, inspire this article with a key principle I’d like to share with you. That of the shared suitcase. All too often, we meet couples and families who share their challenges with us, and one thing emerges. In many cases, each person wants to bring what has been handed down to them, or reproduce what they have seen. This leads to a constant dynamic of opposition, since we’ve each had a different upbringing, different traditions, our own culture and DNA. Harmony begins by asking an essential question: what do we want? Whether it’s your life, your family, your business or anything else, you’re affected by this generational barrier. <\/p>\n
