As a coach, I very often meet people who want to progress or move forward. The ultimate aim of coaching is to help people achieve their goals. Today, I’d like to share with you one essential thing that has really helped me to progress and face up to various challenges. I don’t know if this happens to you, but personally and for many of the people I coach, the main challenge lies in asking too many inappropriate questions. Questioning is a sign of humility, but when it’s too much, it’s too much! When it’s inappropriate, it plunges us into a whole universe of inappropriate, blocking limits.
Each person has a particular color that expresses itself in a picture that represents the world. When we analyze colorimetry and, more specifically, the phenomenon of light and how to bring it to light, we see a very illustrative fact. Light can be perfect, but when placed in the wrong environment, it appears bland or unable to express its true potential. We then distinguish between luminosity, which is specific to light and demonstrates its strength, and brilliance, which gives light its brilliance. Taking this as an illustration of potential, we clearly discern the difference between a person’s strength and potential on the one hand, and their expression, their revelation, on the other. A person’s strength may be immense, their potential exceptional, but if they are placed in the wrong environment, their visibility will be diminished. To shine and influence is therefore not only to develop as a person, but also to seek the right environment in which to develop and express your full potential.
So let’s ask ourselves the right questions to shine and influence:
- What do I need to work on to improve my ability to shine?
- What environment would allow me to fully express this light?
- What’s the next step to increase my capacity and find or create the right environment for my progression?
